KSU Owl Job Shadow Program

Kennesaw State University offers the Owl Job Shadow Program to provide students with a one-day shadow experience that assists students by helping them explore several career opportunities allowing them to see what it is like to work after graduation. The program enables students to witness first-hand what the day-to-day operations of a company consist of and gives students a chance to practice professionalism, connect classroom learning with workplace experience, and get an in-depth look into different career paths as it relates to their degree.

Long Engineering, Inc. recently utilized the Owl Job Shadow Program to give an upcoming college student direct access into the civil engineering industry. LONG allowed this person the chance to shadow professionals from both our Infrastructure & Survey and Land Development divisions. LONG used this time to teach about transportation, surveying, designing, subsurface utility engineering, and construction engineering & inspection. Our professionals displayed the day-to-day routines of their job as well as provide opportunities to travel with our field crews onto job sites. Long Engineering, Inc. plans on continuing to use this program to educate students on the civil engineering industry and help students to define their potential career paths and future goals after graduation.
