Fernbank Forest – Wild Woods

Wild Woods is now open at Fernbank Museum of Natural History.  This all-new outdoor experience featuring dramatic highline trails, elevated tree pods, hands-on exhibitions, immersive nature experiences and direct access to Fernbank Forest.

Long Engineering, Inc. provided the civil engineering services that included design of a 50,000 cubic foot underground stormwater management system, utility design, erosion control design, and permitting through Corp of Engineers, State EPD, and DeKalb County.

GGC Building C Expansion Now Open

The Georgia Gwinnett College Building C expansion is now open.  The 54,000 square foot expansion includes 16 classrooms, 100 offices and numerous education/classroom support function spaces.  The main entrance opens to the campus Quad with connecting sidewalks to the Student Center, Library and Student Housing.

Long Engineering, Inc. provided civil engineering design services that included site grading, stormwater management, ADA access, utility services, erosion control, and permitting through the Georgia Soil and Water Conservation Commission, the City of Lawrenceville and Gwinnett County.

Construction Inspection Work – GDOT District 1

Long Engineering, Inc. is performing construction inspection work for the Georgia Department of Transportation in District 1.  One of the current project involves slab replacement on SR 365 in Hall County.  Our inspectors are monitoring the concrete removal, concrete installation and traffic control.

Windsor Parkway Detention Pond

Long Engineering, Inc. recently completed the structural design of a major detention pond for the City of Sandy Springs, Georgia. The project was completed in partnership with Keck & Wood and will serve to detain water in the Windsor Parkway corridor where stormwater runoff has increased dramatically due to development on the basin.
