Long Engineering Announces the Addition of David E. Simmons, PLS, as Project Manager

Long Engineering is pleased to announce the addition of David E. Simmons, PLS as Project Manager in our Land Surveying department. Mr. Simmons has 34 years of surveying experience with a concentration in the transportation, utility, and mapping industries. With the adoption of the Governor’s Road Improvement Program (GRIP) by the State of Georgia in 1989, Mr. Simmons has worked extensively as a subconsultant for the Georgia Department of Transportation (GDOT) on many urban, rural, and bridge projects. He currently serves as Co-Chair on the GPTQ/CRC Surveying and Mapping Subcommittee, and was honored to represent the Subcommittee for an Outstanding Contribution Award at the 2019 Georgia Partnership for Transportation Quality Annual Conference. 

Mr. Simmons has been licensed as a Land Surveyor in the State of Georgia since 1995. His comprehensive experience includes projects for the City of Atlanta, Fulton County, Gwinnett County, City of Suwanee, as well as GDOT projects with a focus on topographic surveying, deed research, preparation of right-of-way plans, plats and legal descriptions for deeds, right-of-way staking, surveys for roadway sight distance determinations, roadway multi-point levels, and surveys in support of the preparation of demolition plans. Additional expertise includes subsurface utility engineering (SUE), utility research, and utility impact analysis, which has been an important service line for our clients.  We are excited to welcome Mr. Simmons to our talented team of Survey and SUE professionals.
