GDOT Selects Long As Prime Consultant For Bridge Replacement Project in Houston County

Long Engineering (LONG) was recently selected as the prime consultant for the bridge replacement project at SR 7 over Flat Creek in Houston County, 3 miles southwest of Perry. Atlas Technical Consultants and will be providing Quality Assurance and Geotechnical Services, and Anthony Kamburis, PE (LONG) will be our project manager.

We have had the privilege of partnering with GDOT for the past 15 years and we are looking forward to continuing our work with GDOT!

Kelvin Tyler Joins Long as Subsurface Utility Engineering (SUE), Project Manager

Long Engineering is pleased to announce the addition of Kelvin Tyler, Subsurface Utility Engineering (SUE), Project Manager.

Mr. Tyler has built comprehensive project execution, quality and risk management plans, and has successfully executed multiple projects within contracted schedules and budgets. With over 20 years of SUE experience, he has experience using a wide-range of geophysical tools and equipment to solve complex utility mapping problems.

Mr. Tyler has performed and managed numerous SUE investigation projects for a several clients and industries, including various State Departments of Transportation, the Department of Defense, Municipalities, Aviation, Petroleum, Power Utilities, Environmental & Geotechnical, and Railways.

In addition, Mr. Tyler has managed numerous Utility Impact Analysis projects and has prepared numerous Departments of Transportation SUE deliverables and other investigation reports.

Long Engineering, Inc. now has a Birmingham, AL office!

We are pleased to announce that Long Engineering, Inc. has opened a Birmingham, AL office.  This is an extension of our Transportation Division and will provide engineering services in conjunction with the Atlanta office. The primary design services in this division will include roadway and bridge design as well as hydraulic design.

Three new people with extensive roadway design experience have joined us in the Birmingham office to accomplish this effort.  Anthony Kanburis, PE will lead the division and is supported by Marc Thompson, senior project manager and Chris Maloney, senior project engineer.

Robbie Frizzell, Gary Tillman, Smone Belay, Paul Liles and Bill Ingalsbe in Atlanta will join in this division with their expertise to round out the group and expand our capabilities in these areas.
