Clayton County CEI for Transportation Projects – LONG in Action!

Clayton County contracted with LONG to provide Construction Engineering Inspection (CEI) services for transportation-related projects that are funded through Clayton County’s Special Purpose Local Sales Tax (SPLOST) program. Our contract began in 2018, and we’re delighted that the County recently decided to renew again for another year! We’d like to thank our teaming partners from Benchmark Management, Atlas and LCW. The scope of work entails inspection of new roadways, roadway widenings, new sidewalks, culvert and bridge replacements, and intersection improvements.

Thanks and Farewell to our CEI Summer Interns

Long Engineering, Inc. hosted its summer interns to a farewell outing at Murph’s restaurant located at the Cobb Galleria Centre in Atlanta. Our Construction Engineering & Inspection (CEI) interns had the opportunity to work on the high profile, $834 million dollar Northwest Corridor project. LONG has provided up to 25 inspectors to complete field engineering and inspection services on 39 bridges, 100 retaining walls, and both concrete and asphalt paving. During this project, our interns learned how to inspect steel and erosion control, pour barrier wall, drive pile, perform concrete testing, and learned about super & sub bridge structures. In addition, all of our CEI interns received their field concrete certification as well as their Level 1A erosion control certification. During the outing, our CEI interns had the opportunity to take a picture with the MLB Hall of Fame player himself; Dale Murphy.
