CAD Tech| SUE

Long Engineering is seeking a Subsurface Utility Engineering CAD Tech for our Atlanta office. The CAD Technician works with the Subsurface Utility department to produce drawings, layouts, and utility surveys using computer-aided design software such as Microstation. The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:

  1. Use project specifications, detailed drawings, and verbal instructions to complete assignments
  2. Operate Microstation and AutoCAD to create, evaluate, and ensure that designs are created according to specifications Use Microstation InRoads, Civil 3D, and other similar software for conducting benchmark studies, and evaluating quality. Review maps and drawings to ensure that field and technical data is recorded and taken into account
  3. Maintain an organized work area, filing system, email inbox, and action list ensuring that goals and activities are completed on time
  4. Prioritize and manage multiple projects simultaneously
  5. Other unlisted duties will be assigned

Requirements:

  1. Must have at least three (3) years of experience in utility designating or drafting within the last five (5) years
  2. Demonstrated proficiency in evaluating highly detailed design work
  3. High level of proficiency using Microstation, InRoads, AutoCAD Civil 3D, and similar software
  4. High level of proficiency operating MS Excel, MS Outlook, MS Word
  5. Understand and communicate GDOT specifications
  6. Communicate effectively in English via verbal and written communications
  7. Ability to read, analyze, and interpret professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations
  8. Moderate physical activity performing somewhat strenuous daily activities of a primarily administrative nature in an office environment
