Construction Inspector
Position Summary
Perform daily field testing of construction materials, perform inspections and accurately record test results and observations for transportation related projects.
The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:
- Observe construction and document compliance/non-compliance with contract documents
- Conduct field tests according to established procedures
- Coordinate with other inspectors and supervisors on testing requirements
- Become familiar with project contract documents
- Communicate technical matters to the client in a concise and accurate manner
- Conduct activities in a safe manner
Minimum Requirements:
- High School Diploma; Some College Preferred
- Valid driver’s license and satisfactory driving record
- Minimum of five years’ of diverse experience in the construction or materials testing industries
- Must have an ACI certification or related certification
- Must have WECS certification
- Must be able to read and understand construction drawings and technical specifications
Other Miscellaneous Requirements:
- Good verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to follow project directions accurately
- Ability to travel, some overnight, weekends and early morning work assignments
- Ability to work in adverse weather conditions and lift up to 50 lbs, and stoop, bend and stand throughout the course of up to a 12 hour day in varying terrain
