CAD Manager | Land Development

Long Engineering is seeking a CAD Manager for our Atlanta, Georgia office. The CAD Manager position requires strong AutoCAD Civil3D skills; develop, implement, and enforce CAD design standards and procedures; work with Engineering Teams regarding CAD technical issues, training, and other CAD system issues; manage CAD hardware and software systems; technical knowledge within the land development field; maintain CAD document archive; process field data, property surveys, and GIS information; prepares documents for Project documentation, including but not limited to: initial setup, sheet sets, surface/alignment/profiles generation, pipe networks, point files, and general markups. The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:

  1. Performing site design including preparation of site plans, grading and drainage plans, erosion and sediment control plans, storm water management, detailing and permitting
  2. Supervising and mentoring CAD technicians and Intern Staff
  3. Managing multiple project drafting workloads simultaneously
  4. Performing design work accurately and efficiently
  5. Communicating clearly and positively both internally and externally

Minimum Requirements:

  1. 10+ years of experience in AutoCAD Civil3D
  2. Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Word
  3. Excellent communication skills (verbal and written)
  4. Highly organized, detail-driven and conscientious
  5. Valid Driver’s License
  6. Commitment to detail and quality of work

Preferred Qualifications:

  1. Thorough knowledge of applicable zoning and development ordinances and approval processes
  2. Knowledge of City of Atlanta, GDOT, and GSWCC requirements
  3. Civil 3D software, hydrology, and hydraulic software experience
