Survey Party Chief | Land Surveying

Long Engineering is seeking a Survey Party Chief for our Atlanta, Georgia office. The Survey Party Chief will be responsible for supervising a survey team in performing topographic and boundary surveys and database surveys. They will also ensure the accuracy of field work, perform field calculations, operate and maintain Leica survey equipment, make proper field notes and sketches, ensure the proper maintenance of crew vehicles, adhere to all applicable safety procedures and other duties as necessary to complete complex survey projects.

The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:

  1. Perform boundary, topographic, and utility surveys including ALTA surveys
  2. Perform roadway database surveys
  3. Ability to operate robotic total stations with proficiency in GPS, Static, and RTK technology
  4. Supervise field survey team
  5. Must be detail oriented and document all survey procedures and results
  6. Meet specified schedules and budgets

Minimum Requirements:

  1. High School Diploma or GED
  2. 5 years of experience as a survey party chief
  3. Valid Georgia driver’s license with a clean driving record
  4. Good mathematical and communication skills
  5. Commitment to detail and quality of work

Preferred Qualifications:

  1. Proficiency of field survey methods
  2. Desire to further career in surveying
  3. Desire to work with a highly skilled Registered Land Surveyors to learn advanced survey techniques
  4. Ability to work overtime and travel throughout the state of Georgia
  5. Physically able to work outdoors under all conditions
  6. Ability to handle multiple tasks within the same day
