Southern Polytechnic State University
Long Engineering, Inc. helped sponsor the Concrete Canoe Team. This enabled the team to compete in the 2006 Southeast ASCE Regional Competition. The team placed 10th out of 30 teams.
Hands on Atlanta
Ranetta Goss, and a handful of Long Engineering, Inc. employees volunteered their Saturday this October to help paint the Learn-to-Grow building, an organization that helps high-risk children in the Atlanta-area. Long Engineering, Inc. also donated two computers and software to Learn-to-Grow.
2006 Pink Ribbon Classic Golf Tournament
Long Engineering, Inc. sponsored a hole at this annual golf tournament that raises money for the American Cancer Society. Long Engineering, Inc. has been a part of this great tournament for the past two years.
Harper Archer Middle School
To help start the 2006 school year on the right foot, Long Engineering, Inc. donated over 300 ink pens to Harper Archer Middle School. We feel lucky to be able to help out local Atlanta children, and maybe one day one of these students will be a future engineer!
Argyle Elementary School Mentoring Program
We have numerous Long Engineering, Inc. employees giving their lunch hours once a week to read and spend time mentoring a child at Argyle Elementary in Cobb County.
Women for Women
When one woman, Marti Okerberg, won an auction for a two-piece music band at a breast cancer benefit it lead to the organization of a group that wanted to help make a difference. Marti, along with Patty Hermann, Ellen and 15 other women three of who are cancer survivors- formed an organization known as Women for Women in Cobb County, with the goal of helping women struggling with cancer and financial problems.
